SADR OF PYRBLISS
September 21, 1985 - April 30, 1996
I named him for a star.
He was the very first member of the Stormont family as we welcomed him even before our eldest child and if ever Fate intervened with an event, it was with Sadr's arrival into my life.
Sadr, a Great Pyrenees from Binbrook, Ontario, was my introduction into the very nature of a guardian breed and I fell head over heels in love. I can still recall how excited I was at the prospect of him and how we drove through a snowstorm to bring him home.
Sadr enjoyed a full life. In the beginning we were inseparable and many came to know him as my smiling baby polar bear. As he matured, his breeder saw his potential and I allowed her to show him briefly. We were both so proud when he became an undefeated Canadian champion. It was difficult to be without him, however, and he always returned home to be with me. He proved loyal and trustworthy as he watched over the land and our growing family.
 He'd led a good life but the thread of Fate that had brought us together was just too strong and he would not leave me of his own accord. When he finally did go, the song (Everything I Do) I Do It For You by Bryan Adams was playing. Even after all these years I interpret the strength and message of those words and think of it as Sadr's song.
I named him for a star. He lived up to the magic of his name.
