HIMALAYA'S TALE OF KASURA MERU
May 10, 2002 - June 14, 2004

"We now shall look a little longer
At every star above the hill
And think of him, and have him still."
~Douglas Malloch
("Kasura" is the Tibetan word for amber "Meru" and is found in Tibetan mythology. It is known as the centre of the universe, the mystical place of consummate perfection).
In May of 2002 my heart was stolen by the clownish antics and sweet temperament of "Tiger Man" Tanjur. He was sired in Chesapeake, Virginia by the gentle ATMA/ARBA Ch. Himalaya's Lokeshvara and tended to by his dam, ATMA/ARBA Champion Himalaya's Isis. I had the privilege of spending time with Tanjur and his litter mates between 3 and 6-weeks of age and it was so very special. He arrived in Canada at 4 months of age and he fit right in. I quickly nicknamed him "Shredder" for his habit of ripping everything apart. He especially liked junk mail when he could get it.
For the next year he shared a yard with Kigh and learned his manners. I could trust Tanjur to be energetic and enthusiastic during our private time together and when I took him for walks he never missed an opportunity to put his muzzle in my hand. During car rides he would never stretch out but chose to sit up and rest his head over the back seat. Tanjur was a truly handsome, sound and balanced boy who combined the best of both his sire and dam. He earned praise for his sheer beauty and merited respect as an exceptional ambassador of the breed. Losing Tanjur came as a shock and words will never do justice as to how much I will miss him.
Breeding History
Tanjur was the sire of one litter at StormnAngels Tibetan Mastiffs. Put to Himalaya's Nying Dang Draba (Shenyen) the "D" litter (5 dogs - 4 bitches) was born on January 5, 2004. (You can visit with all them in the Puppy Tales section.) It is a tribute to this wonderful boy that I chose to keep his beautiful daughter, StormnAngels Dark Moon. I'm very proud that some of Tanjur's children have gone on to promote other breeding programs and some even have off-spring of their own.
